    Q: What is Interplay MAM?

    A: Avid Interplay MAM is comprehensive and intelligent solution for media asset management to help you organize your media, make it broadly accessible, unify and coordinate every aspect of production. The Interplay MAM Active Archive solution provides key workflows and a dynamic archive capability in a complete quick start package.

    Q: What is AXF?

    A: AXF stands for "Attribute eXchange Format". It is an XML document format used to exchange meta data for assets in Interplay MAM.

    Q: Where is AXF used in Interplay MAM?

    A: AXF is used in a variety of places within Interplay MAM:
    - parameter format for SOAP calls to Interplay MAM DataManagerWS to query, update and create meta data of assets
    - file format for meta data updates in pre-configured watch folders
    - base format for the storage of the configurable data model
    - base format for search requests and hit list results

    Q: Is there a documentation of AXF?

    A: Yes, a detailed documentation can be found in the Documentation/Admin folder of the Interplay MAM installation medium and in the Avid Knowledge Base.


    Q: What is SWoDL?

    A: SWoDL stands for "Simple Workflow Definition Language". It is a proprietary scripting language used to automate workflows in Interplay MAM.


    Q: What is SWoDL used for?

    A: With SWoDL you are able to call MAM WebServices and/or third party WebServices via SOAP. It also supports arrays and structs.
