Dekocast Crawl control duration/ending + read data from txt file.

    Hello Friends,

We have an scene created that include the following Deko objects:

1.- Video In (feeding on air program)

    2.- Clip (for crawl background)

3.- Crawl (reading data from text file)

    4.- Cell Animation (for Logo)

The purpose of scene is to place on air a "break news" with 30 sec duration, so the clip duration is 30 sec (of course).  The crawl parameters for reading the data from an existing text file located in a network drive, position and speed are already set. There is an action to trigger the clip playback, etc...

    My question are:

1.- How we can set the crawl duration on screen to match the 30 sec?.  At this time, crawl is in loop mode but it keeping on screen even the others scene objects end (clip, etc).

2.- What we need to do for crawl data already saved in text file just with action start instead of "save" function done in the text file?...  At this time, data from text file is crawled on screen only after "save" is done on text file.

    Any feedback is welcome!

    Thanks

Re: Dekocast Crawl control duration/ending + read data from txt file.

I do not currently have access to a DekoCast, and am having a little trouble understanding your questions.  Here are a few questions for you, and some info that may help.

What version of DekoCast are you using?

For your crawl, are you using a Deko object with the crawl Transition Type, or a Crawl Object?

    What actions do you have?

Do you have your DekoCast Users Guide?

    As for your questions:

1.- How we can set the crawl duration on screen to match the 30 sec?.  At this time, crawl is in loop mode but it keeping on screen even the others scene objects end (clip, etc).

Presuming you are using a Deko object with crawl as the Transition Type,  you can have Loop ON, which is the default, or change it to a value.  You will find this in the Contents tab of the Object Editor.  If the length of the text (the number of characters) is the same or close to the same each time you can test it to see how many loops you will need to fill 30 seconds.  If the length of the text varies each time you will have to choose a readable Rate and simply remove the text at the end of the 30 seconds

2.- What we need to do for crawl data already saved in text file just with action start instead of "save" function done in the text file?...  At this time, data from text file is crawled on screen only after "save" is done on text file.

You can create an action that has a 30 second duration.  At the start it will bring all objects on, and at the end it will bring all objects off.  If they are all coming on/off at the same time you can put them all in a Group and do one action for all of them.
