MC6 - want to capture from "old" Sony DV camera

I plan to remake some movies I made some time ago, in Liquid. Therefor, I connected my Sony Digital 8 DCR-TRV310 to my W7 system. I did not change any settings in the camera and started MC6.

The audio recording system of the Sony tells me 12bit, 32kHZ, stereo 1/2 or 16bits, 48kHz stereo.

The tape I recorder said, that it was 12bit Audio. Maybe that is the problem?

The camera is detected and the capture tool can be opened. When I start recording/capturing from the camera, after 15 secs, the captures tops and MC reports that portions of the audio sample rate do not match the 48000 Project setting.

I opened the project as 25p PAL (25i PAL gave same problem). That gave me an Aspect Ratio 16:9 and a raster dimension of 720x576

I think I made have choosen the wrong setting for the DV Project.

Any suggestions what could cause my problem and how to solve the problem.

MC6.0.5, QT version 7.7.3, AvidFX 6.2(64bit), Squeeze Pro 8.5.0.41, AvidDVD 6.4.4 (still in my system, but I don't use it anymore), Boris Continuum... [view my complete system specs]

I had the exact same problem with a Digital 8 and MC6. Change the audio project to 32khz and it will capture fine. After that you can change the sample rate on the captured clips.

Sef, you might want to have your " audio project settings " set to 32 khz , there is a scrolldown list .

For your Video capture settings Pal DV 420 is what you want to use and all this will just do a copy of your tapes, you can change fullscreen or widescreen afterwards after having looked at the media.

    32 kHz did the trick.

In my project it took automatically DV 25 420i (PAL) for the Video track. Is that a problem?

It works, so it could be OK?

No problems at all, it´s a plain bit to bit capturing from tape to avid media library.
