    MC5.5 and dongle and CS5.5?

    HI all,

I have a two Macs currently running OS 10.6.8 and MC 5.5.3.  Neither are running the 64 bit kernal.  I move a dongle between them.  I am happy.

I am looking to get Adobe CS 5.5 - a 64 bit only app.

I seem to understand that one can not use a MC dongle when the 64 bit kernal is enabled.  But this is where my understanding ends.

Simply: Can I run MC 5.5.3 with a dongle and the CS 5.5 apps at the same time?

Or am I looking at a alternate boot scenario?

    Thanks,

    Jef

64-bit apps will run in 64-bit even if you've booted into the 32-bit kernel.

Must think of something clever to go here...

Great.  Also just found this which explains further.

I'm running 10.6.8 and 5.5.3 with a dongle under a 32-bit kernel. The CS 5.5 apps work great for me.

I'm not using CUDA though because my card doesn't support it... I don't know if that makes a difference.

    My software:
Pro Maintenance Tools - Tools to keep Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Pro X and Adobe Premiere Pro running smoothly and fix problems when they arise
Pro Media Tools - Edit QuickTime chapters and metadata, detect gamma shifts, edit markers, watch renders and more
    More tools...

Thanks for the input.   Don't have a CUDA card to play with yet.
