MC 5.5.3 - Polyphonic Audio Import doesn't assign Track Number to masterclip

    Hi Everyone,

Was really looking forward to the fixes in 5.5.3, but have encountered this --

On all pervious versions including 5.5.1 and 5.5.2, importing mutlichannel/polyphonic sound files from a recorder such as the 744T or 788T, Avid would recognise the filename structure/metadata of the sound file then name the master-clip NAME accordingly in the Bin.

    FIle:  001T01.WAV, 001T02.WAV, 001T03.WAV

    5.5.2 -- Imported into Avid (NAME Column): 001/01, 001/02, 001/03

    However, on 5.5.3 -- Imported into Avid (NAME Column): 001, 001, 001

5.5.3 does recognise the metadata. SCENE & TAKE fields are filled correctly. As is TRACK column names.

Could duplicate the TapeID column. Or use a macro to correct. Not an ideal solution.

Have tested with files from separate devices and sound recordists. Hoping this is a "Me" problem...

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Luca

Just to conform this, for the very same files you imported into previous versions of MC, you are seeing the behavior you are describing in 5.5.3?

Sorry for the late reply Michael, too much work!

That's correct. The same files were used on version 5.5.1, 5.5.2 and 5.5.3

Only seeing the problem on 5.5.3

We have since stayed on 5.5.2, but now that one of our assistant systems is encountering audio scrub problems, I'm thinking of going up to 5.5.3 and trying to replicate this problem on another system.

    Hey everybody

I can confirm the post from Luca. We have the same phenomenon.

With MC 5.5.1 and 5.5.2 the files from the 788T are working fine. But here with the newest MC 5.5.3.5 the take numbers are not imported and we have to painfully manually add them to every soundfile.

so a polyphonic wav file named in Windows "003-14T2" (003-14 is the scene description and T2 the takenumber) is imported in MC 5.5.1 and 5.5.2 like this "003-14/2" but in MC 5.5.3.5 unfortunately just like this "003-14"

Is AVID working on this Problem?

    thank, Chris (cine plus Germany)
