    Export settings

    Good Afternoon, Group

I am finishing a project that was 29.97SD 30i.  I will export it as a quicktime movie and my church will project the program.  Just now the video settings for video are Sorenson3 highest quality.  Is there a better setting that will ensure the project looks good when projected?  Also, the titles have a bit of a flicker in them.  They were created in Marquee and saved at high res.  Any help here would be appreciated.

    Thanks for your help

    Ken

    Hi Ken,

Do you have access to any conversion software (Sorensen Squeeze?  Procoder?)?

    Re: Export settings

Yep, I have Sorenson Squeeze, though an old version.  I was thinking it would be better to export from Avid at some level so as not to incur another level of compression.  Is that not so?

    Re: Export settings

    Hi Ken,

If you export a Quicktime reference movie and use Sorensen Squeeze to make whatever file type you need, you won't add any compression (QT reference movie uses the same media that Xpress Pro uses), and Squeeze gives you more control over the compression settings/variables.  That's what I'd do if I were in your shoes.

As for the Marquee flickering thing, sometimes this is due to the font you're using, or it could be a problem with the system.  If you can post a screen shot of your system with the title in one of the monitors, it'd help us to narrow it down.

    ciao,
    Carl

    Hi Ken,

After you click on the reply button, the next window that opens has a series of tabs that say compose, options, related and preview.  If you click on options there's a button that allows you to add an attachment.

    ciao,

Weird, cuz I see it on mine.  What browser are you using?

You could always upload a screenshot to Photobucket or Flickr or someplace and provide a link to it.
