    iMAC 3,4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 and MC5/5.5

    Hello,

the new iMACs with i7 Sandybridge CPU r out and till that point i am thinking about buying one.

    the situation:
i need a system that i can transport from time to time.
and there r the new powerfull iMACs out and i dont want a MBP.
i think the iMACs have enough power for MC5/5.5 and squeeze.
and if i buy the BIG iMAC it has enough Power inside and u can easily connect external RAIDs with enough space.

so u have only one problem with using a reference monitor but if one day the AJA IO Express with TB ist out this wouldnt be a problem anymore. Or r there solutions this time out?

r there some poeple outthere that use iMAC and MC and HD Footage.
hopefully there r some poeple, who can give me a decision guidance!

and i hope my german english isnt that bad today how i feel it.

    greetz

MacPro, MacBook Pro and a Cube (masquerading as a kleenex dispenser). [view my complete system specs]

Must think of something clever to go here...

The only downside to iMac is the fact you won't get expansion slot such as in 17' inch mbp. But for software only mc5 you will be great. Don't get the point of portability with iMac but to each their own :-)

They both showed "technology demos" at NAB.  Not products, demos.
