    MTS files with MC 3.0

Is it possible to import and edit MTS files using MC 3.0? I recently shot with the Panasonic HMC-150, which captures in this format. I've been having trouble importing, and I'm wondering if I might need to bite the bullet and update the software.

Thanks in advance for your help!

That or use another program like ClipWrap to convert the clips to DNxHD.  Avid doesn't support spanned clips with AVCHD, so you may need an external program anyway.

Thank you! So, just to be clear, are you saying that even if I spend the money to upgrade to 5.5 I'll still have issues and need ClipWrap? Would your advice be to stick with 3.0, buy ClipWrap, and be done with it? Thanks in advance again!

Depends on the length of your clips.  If they're longer than 20 minutes or so they'll span over multiple files and you'll need a workaround solution like ClipWrap.  You'll also need to consider the advantages/disadvantages of upgrading to MC 5.5 in terms of OS version and other things.
