Title Tool: Unable to save this title. DISK_ACCESS_DENIED

    Hi,

I've been searching the forums but haven't found a solution.

    I'm running MC5.0.3 on a Mac (OS 10.6.4).

Whenever i try to save a title made through Title Tool it's coming up with an access denial. I've repaired permissions. I've tried to save it to other drives (including a flash drive) I've tried to save it to other bins, with no success.

Any and all help is appreciated!

    Thank you.

Check your Media Creation settings, I imagine Avid is trying to render the title to a drive that is not a media drive. I run an editshare network based storage, Avid always defaults to a local drive where I have disabled write access so this is a common error message for me. Even if you set the correct media drive in the save dialogue box the media creation settings will tend to override what you have selected.

    thank you for your reply!

i've got everything set in the media creation settings panel to my GRAID (which is my main media drive, which has all the media for this project on it) with no luck.

Hmmmmm. Avid writes a temp file in the Avid Users folder. Maybe check the write permissions for that folder. Folder path is Users/shared/AvidMediaComposer/Avid Users/.

    Hello,

I have posted about this before and got no resolution. I have had exactly the same problem and in the end resorted to Marquee for my titles. I think there there is another thread running about this, but I suspect it's a bug in the program.

I'm going through exactly the same thing. Opened up permissions on all pertinent drives, repaired permissions, checked media creation settings, gone into the Avid Users folder to make sure permissions were open there etc.... My take is that disk_access_denied is a bug. I too have resorted to Marquee..... unless anyone else has an idea?

Could you give us the MC version, OSX version and the format of the drive you're attempting to write to?

Re: Title Tool: Unable to save this title. DISK_ACCESS_DENIED

Be glad to. I'll put this in my profile for future reference:

    Avid Media Composer 5.5.2

    OSX 10.6.7

All media drives are formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

    I have

    2 - 1TB internal

    1 - 250GB internal

One external Firewire800 drive for temp overflow only when needed

    Thanks so much!

Re: Title Tool: Unable to save this title. DISK_ACCESS_DENIED

I experience the same problem on my system :

Avid Media Composer 5.5.3 (no Mojo or Adrenaline), educational version

running on A Mac Book Pro 17" with 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard), with OS language set to "French"

computer equipped with 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

    4 Go 1067 MHz DDR3 ram

logged in as "administrator" on the computer (no other profile exists on this computer)

Only workaround so far is using Marquee.

    Thanks !
