    BCC6 and video level change

Whenever I use a BCC6 effect (like lens flare for example) over a video layer I am getting a very minor but still noticeable shift in video level when getting in and out of the effect. The decrease in level easily seen on a scope. Anybody else notice this?

I think that by default, BCC clips the image to 16-235.

If you open the General Controls of any BCC effect, you'll find a "Safe Levels" option, turned on by default. See if it helps to turn that off.

Thanks for the reply Job. Yeah, I tried the safe levels thinking that might be it but it still has the shift. My Project is SD 29.97 2:1 compression.

I'm on a Mac, is it working on the PC side ok?

Re: BCC6 and video level change

I reloaded the older BCC 5 AVX and there is no shift in black levels on that version . For some reason BCC 6 is not working correctly on my system. Can anyone else verify this?

To test, cut in 1 second of color bars, use add edit to divide the clip in half. Add BCC 6 effect (DVE or Lens Flare) to one side of the edit. Is there a minor level drop on the BCC 6 clip?

I am having the same issue. I did the recommended test & the level drop is obvious.

Thanks for replying. So it's happening on Media Composer too? Can anybody else confirm this issue?
