Hello,
I'm seriously rethinking our current DV/HDV workflow. We've been experiencing a lot of problems batch capturing HDV. XDCAM is awesome but a bit expensive.
-What is the best mid-budget HD acquisition format for Avid today?- I like Sony cameras. The NXCAM looks really nice. How does it edit in Avid MC?
thanks

Hi there,
Can't say anything about Sony's NXCAM (if it's AVCHD, though, I'd keep as far away as possible), but the Sony EX-1 works extremely well with Avid.
Regards, Malcolm
Thanks.
Ok, so HDV (m2t) is still better than AVCHD? What's Avid's plan for AVCHD?..I hope they are woking on it.
Whatabout the Sony Z5? I mean anything than tape!
So far, mt2 files works fine for me. We have a Z7.
I'm just looking for an alternative portable camcorder and also a future media path.
