    Text File Import

Hey there.. i posted this problem on yahoo deko wizards but no response.. i talked with support and they couldn't help me out.. I emailed Lou who wrote the macro and he never got back to me.. can anyone here help me?? pretty please??  Maybe there is a different way to do it besides the below macro?  I'm on a deko 3000 5.2.

I"m using Lou's macro below to read specific rows of text from a .txt file but I
can't seem to get it to work. I'm missing a step. (I emailed lou but haven't
heard back so maybe someone here can help, I need it by tomorrow)

I have a 2 line lower third.. I want the 1st layer to read the 1st line of the
heatinfo.txt file and the 2nd layer to read the 2nd line of text.

I have layer one set to source 'macro'
under where it says macro i have the path of the macro
    D:\us_open\macros\test.mcr

Nothing populates when I save the page and recall it, just a message that says
    'macro contains unexpected' message.

what am I missing here? I guess i need to tell the macro or something to look
for layer 1.. where do I add that in the macro?

    regards,

    chris

    *******
    parameter $LineNum

    #Get the entire file
    $FileContents=readtext D:\us_open\csv\heatinfo.txt

#Set the delimeter to carriage return
    $delimeter=ascii2str 13
    $LF=ascii2str 10

#Pares the file into an arrey
    strparse $FileContents $Line $delimeter

#Strip the Line feed if there is one
    $i=index $Line[$LineNum] $LF
    if $i>0
    $Line[$LineNum]=substr $Line[$LineNum] 2 #((length
    $Line[$LineNum])-1)
    end

#return the data back to the calling layer
    return $Line[$LineNum]

    Hey Chris

"I have layer  one set to source 'macro'
under where it says macro i have the path of the macro
    D:\us_open\macros\test.mcr"

I belive that you shold have the name of the txt file, and then the numbers of the row and field. Like this:

    heatinfo.txt 1 1

    I havn't checked your makro.

    Regards

    Jakob
