    importing still pictures?

I did a search but didn''t really find what I was looking for. I want to import some stills (a wedding) into my timeline, but even though I e-sized them to 720X540 in Photoshop, they imported all squashed. This is a 16X9 project and I must be doing something wrong. Any help?  Thanks.

In the import tool aspect ratio options, choose "do not re-size smaller images".

I should mention that I am still using Avid DV Express Pro. Does the information work for that system as well?

I guess what I am looking for is the correct dimensions, something like 8xxX540 or such? Thanks

    HI

If you have the "Avid Pan & Zoom" effect, images will come in the right format. But check all options like filtering to get a smooth result.

Can you walk me through how that works? Thanks!

    Re: importing still pictures?

The pan and zoom effect does not import media into Avid. Rather, there is a button on the top left of the effect editor that will allow you to point to a high resolution image file on your platform which allows you to do truly resolution independent moves on that image file directly. Keep in mind that the hi rez image file MUST remain on your system for the duration of the project. Further, if the project is moved to another Avid platform, that image file must be moved as well, and a new path to it defined for the second system.
