    Closed Captioning

    Hey there everybody,

I might be tasked with doing all the Closed Captioning for an up coming project. We were farming it out but now its going to fall in my lap. My problem is I have never done it before and not sure how to go about it. I need to know about software and hardware options for acomplishing this. How do other facilities do CC? what is the industry standard? what is the workflow? any help would be much appreciated!!! and i kinda need to know asap!

Thanks so much for your help!!!!!

I use automaticsync.com. Have to deliver them a timed transcript of your show (they can arrange for transcription for a fee) and a sound file of the show. You get back subtitles (open captions) and closed captions in just about any format you need. Very affordable.

    Re: Closed Captioning

More than likely it is going to cost much more (in both time and hard costs) to bring it in-house. It makes sense both monetarily and time-wise to outsource.

How did you get stuck with this, when they know it is not your expertise?
