I can't remember which exact version this occurred in, but somewhere in the v10 series we gained Output Size control in timewarps -- so oversized material can stay oversized and you can DVE afterwards.  YAY!

If you need to create a font of an exact pixel size, you can accomplish this with a shape in the graphics suite.
Draw a rectangle or polyline, then in the transformations property page, type in the "y" size you need, change the font size to match the shape you drew.

Well that is GREAT news.  I just put together a doc for management about what is new in v10 and I did NOT run into that gem.  Thanks for the update.

Re: Avid DS - Tip Of The Day

In case some of you out there don't know it, I've been collecting these tips as well as tips from the DS-List and other places on a Google Moderator site:

    http://www.google.com/moderator/#16/e=260f

You'll see that most of the tips are attributed to me, but I'm just the conduit for others (as usual;).

Note: the moderator page is also i-framed into the DSWiki here: http://dswiki.wikispaces.com/moderator

There are some pretty good tips on here, so I hope you enjoy it.

Timecode Box Fun: When entering timecodes into the timecode boxes, the forward slash "/" at the beginning of an entry will skip the left part of the timecode and only replace the right part of the timecode.  So, if the current timecode is 1:11:06:00, entering "/1402" will create a timecode of 1:11:14:02.

Bonus tip: Entering colons ":" in the timecode boxes will skip those entrys. Example: 1:::12 will result in a timecode of 1:00:00:12.
