    Command 8

Does the Command 8 control surface work with current Media Composer software? No mention on the Digi site that I could find.

    (Mac OS 10.6+, MC 4.x)

I had this conversation with the folks at Digi for a friend over at Criminal Minds and was told that yes, the Command 8 is qualified for use as a control Surface for the Mac version of MC.

Working with 4.0.5, but you do need to select command8 from the controller settings, before it will work

AH yes. But you see you are working on a Windows box. I am on my mac.

Not sure why it would work on one platform and not the other.

Did you have to install any additional software?

    Re: Command 8

OK the Command 8 works well with MC 5.5, but I am still looking for a manual that will help me use it more effectively. For example. I have 8 tracks working OK, I'd like to hit a button or a console command and have the command 8 modify the second 8 tracks (9-16)

Does anyone know if there is some avid or diigi documentation? The pdf download on the digi site seems quite limited.

thanks for all your help. Eventually I would like to bet both my MC6 and Protools to talk to it

    Re: Command 8

In order to control 16 tracks with any of the 8 track faders available, including the Command|8, you need to have the Audio Mixer Window displaying only 8 tracks, then hit the 'Grp 1' or 'Grp 2' button on the Audio Mixer to switch to showing the other 8 tracks and the midi control will switch to controling the other 8 tracks (credit goes to R.Salsbury for that tip!).

    Re: Command 8

I had the command 8 working fine with my MC 5.0.3 on OS 10.5.6

But since I switched to Lion and MC 5.5. my Command8 is not able to control the faders anymore. I can use the control unit (play buttton etc.) and the display says "avid mode enabled" but the faders stay down...

Anyone with a hint what I forgot to re-install after upgrading?

    Thanks

    Re: Command 8

Have you selected the Command|8 in both the "Port:" and "Gain Controller Port:" options in the Controller Settings?

    Re: Command 8

I suspect this does not work anymore as in new version of MC (2018.11) you do not have to possbility to limit number of track on your audio mixer?
