    Terrence, was this the only argument used by RED for going with Apple?

    That is how I heard it from the inside. The arrogance of Avid towards the RED company turned them off. Then Apple offered the development support in exchange for an exclusive during the early stages.

     

    Fortunately, Avid isn't the same company now that it was a few years ago.

    Considering the announcements of avids new CEO you would hope things change. I believe they are but are they changing fast enough?

    Don't mean to hijack this thread, but if you just want to automatically shut down your PC after a long render, you should check out DShutdown (freeware!).

    Unfortunately it won't send you an sms though...
