    24p PAL EDL problems

    Hey,

I am currently embarking on a trailer project using Media Composer 3.

The movie I am cutting from is HDcamSR 1080 24p, i have a downconversion to PAL digibeta (25fps) with the 24p BITC.

I am unsure about the way to correctly set up the capture of the PAL movie so that AVID will track a 24p timecode at the same time so that when I create an EDL it will reference the 24p timecode which i will be online-ing with.  Am currently working in a PAL 24 project.

    I have read this: http://neilsadwelkar.blogspot.com/2009/03/editing-hdcamsr-24p-in-avid-media...

but not sure if this is entirely correct.

What I have done is too set the 24TC column to reflect the BITC at the start of both clips - but my 24 EDL that i am creating (with 24TC in the source & record) is still coming up with incorrect timecodes (that I think are around a frame per sec. out)

all help would be appreciated... is my BITC misleading?

    Thanks for your time.

    Ben
