Help - error trying to export AAFs

    Hi,

We are trying to export an AAF file in MC 3.0 and having no luck - we're working in a 23.98 project with PCM audio, and have tried all sorts of trouble shooting.

We keep getting the error message

     "Assertion failed: strlen(urlPath) < sizeof(PathName_t)

    File: /Snapshots/releng.relengintel1_1214631138/vobs/coresw/

    ame/Projects/Mac/../../src/ameOMFI/AURLLocator.c, Line: 458"

    And then avid generally crashes.

We've tried the same things as this guy:

    http://archives.bengrosser.com/avid/2008-07/msg00775.htm

But we are unable to use the same solution as him (of converting to AIFF and exporting as an OMFI file) because we cant get transcode to work at all on any of the clips.  More errors and system crashes every time.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Sounds to me like you are hitting some bad media (Probably an effect). Try exporting a small portion of the sequence. If you can get that to go, then export larger chunks until you can find the problem portion of the sequence.

We are seeing this exact problem - 23.796 project, 24bit PCM audio setting, MC 3.0, MojoDX.

We have also tried most of the troubleshooting on this post:

    Have you found any solution?

Check if there's any special character in tape name or if it's name is longer than 8. I had a simmilar problem and solved it modifying tape names of clips.

    Hope this helps

Re: Help - error trying to export AAFs

    Hi all,

thanks for the advice. We had previously tried exporting small parts of the sequence and it seemed to be imported audio that would always stop the aaf from working - i.e. all of our temp music and sfx.

The problem is sorted for now though - interestingly we were able to export the aaf on a PC first try (but the problem still exists on our macs)

Thanks again and I'll keep at it and update if I get any results.
