Multiple formats in MC 2.7 and 3.0

I'm running MC 2.7 on my Mac Pro and am considering upgrading to 3.0.  This is because I'm beginning a project that will be utilizing both HD and SD formats; capturing footage from old VHS tapes, Mini-DV cassetes, P2 HD cards and transferred Spuer 16mm.

What are the actual advantages of 3.0?

Is this a matter of speed or quality?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Speed, stability, cleaner code, better integratoin with tapeless formats (and even more wrok is being done in that area for the next release), New Subcap feature, new RT TC generator plug.

Oh yeah and a nifty new icon for both lift and extract!

    Ok...that was mean...back to my corner....Wink
