QT Ref Export - Black Fill appears White

I'm exporting some QT ref. for encoding to DVD. Some of the sequences have a second or two of black fill at the top and at the end. In the exported file these fill areas appear white - except if I mixdown all my video tracks prior to export. I have the "fill spaces with black" checked in my options settings. What am I missing?

    Thanks in advance.

We run into this quite a bit-  Somehow, Filler just won't export on a QT Ref file reliably.   Use digitized black instead, and you'll never have this worry again.  And if you do WM9 exports, the video and audio won't fall heavily out of sync either. (been down that road as well)

Much thanks. I'll drop in some digitized black, or I guess I can simply always mixdown the filler before export.

Easier than digitized black or mixdowns:

Drop a submaster effect into the space, and render.  Done.

    Good idea.
Personally I keep a Goodies bin that gets imported to all projects. It contains amongst other things  Black, white, bars and tone movies for each resolution and media type I use. The black movie then perrmanently lives in the source window.

Has this been addressed 8 years later? We still run into this while exporting a QT ref to Avid DVD.

I avoid QT Ref unless its from a videomixdown.
