I have several NEXIS PRO 20TB that are running 20.7.5 and 21.5.0, tried updating one of the units to 21.8.2, unit accepts upgrade and reboots, I wait 5+ mins for unit to come back online but it never does. The unit is on and powered but I cannot get back into the management (pinging returns "request timeout...") The fiber is liting up but I cannot access the unit through this connection also. So far I tried upgading on two different units and now both units are non operational. PLEASE HELP AVID!
Have you tried connecting to the management ethernet port in the back?

"se-admin" is the default password for the agent.

That port is down also. Side note I was using that port to upgrade the NEXIS. It just never came back, let it sit for a few hours, no luck. Also power cycled unit and removed controller several times.
If that port is down, then you will need to contact Avid support. I hope you are under contract...

Have you get informations from avid support or have you resolved the issue ? I have the same issue with two engines.
I spoke with Avid, they will be releasing a 2021.12.x version that will resolve this issue. It looks to only affect these early controllers found in the NEXIS 20TB (ISIS1000) units.
To clarify it takes down the management port but the 10Gb SFP+ will still work.
