    synchronizing Audio - different sources

    Hi there,

i am about to edit a docfilm, having 2 cams, plus 6 Tascam DR 10L Audio Recording Devices.

I just want to make sure: Is syncing by waveform still the Way to Go?

Since i don't know if there is any realtime tc or clapperboard was being used ...

i am expecting the worst 🙄 and don' t want to shift around the files by minutes

    thanks in advance

    Florian

Can you not contact anyone involved in the shoot, to ask about their shooting methods?
(Worth knowing something about length of takes, too!)
As an old-timer, I'd say all you need to know is
    - that the devices all run-to-time using the same methodology (eg.quartz crystal timer)
    - and that there are recognisable synch points; even if not a clapperboard, a handclap is very useful if you can see it in shot from both cameras, and hear it on all the audio recordings

Plural Eyes is fine.  But you can also do it right in Avid.
