Client monitor disabled in Media Composer 2019

I'm trying to get the client monitor to work in Media Composer 2019. I'm using the Blackmagic Mini Monitor connected to a MacBook Pro via USBC and a thunderbolt adapter. The monitor is connected via HDMI. The same set up works well with Resolve and Premiere Pro. As Media Composer 2019 loads you can see the Blackmagic IO appear on the screen but when the application is open the option of using the client monitor is disabled. Is anyone else experiencing this? Thanks in advance for any ideas that might fix this issue.

    Hey Kevin,

I haven't tested my Mini Monitor with 2019 yet, so no first hand experience here. By "option of using client monitor" you mean that HW/SW called button, above the timeline, right? Because that would have been my first question. ;) Second question: is your Blackmagic software up to date?

Thank you Cutyes. The HW/SW button by default isn't displayed above the timeline in 2019. I added it from the Command Pallet and have now managed to get the client monitor working again.

I just installed a BM Mini Monitor this weekend, and it took me a while to get squared away with the HW/SW button... I'm rockin' now though
