Does 2019 AVID do Premiere type Metal/Graphics Card Encoding?

Hi I was wondering if this is in the redesigned 2019 AVID. Does it do any export/import encoding using Metal/Open CL the graphics card? Kind of how in Premiere you could export a 2 hour sequence in 10min using the Metal on the graphics card/Cuda on Nvidia cards? Or is it all still CPU based?

Just curious! Figured with a redesigned AVID they'd try to compete with Premiere by being graphics card accelerated everywhere. Is that feature in the works though?

Thanks! Incase they integrated that in the 2019 AVId let me know how to enable it!

Re: Does 2019 AVID do Premiere type Metal/Graphics Card Encoding?

I just did a Google search for GPU in relation to AMC 2019.X and found zilch.  I'm pretty sure if they had new,  improved GPU utilization, they would have been trumpeting it in their press releases.

    So, my guess is no.

But it is just a guess.

You are not alone on wanting to know how to enable it!

Will only be CUDA based if the feud ends between apple and Nvidia. No Nvidia drivers in OS above 10.13.6!

Re: Does 2019 AVID do Premiere type Metal/Graphics Card Encoding?

Yeh I mean if AVID adds some hardware accelerated encoding and compression to imports exports, they'll completely steal the market from Premiere, then its all the power of Premiere in a solid editing program like AVID. I still use AVID and have for 12 years professionally, but it's a bit frustrating on a 12 core Mac Pro  with a 3GB AMD card, that I have to wait so long. I use media encoder to go to MXF's then link them and consolidate in AVID but still it'd be nice if AVID just did that as fast without going to Adobe Media Encoder.
