Sony RX0 with Avid MC 2018.5.0

I can't find any info from anyone who worked with the Sony RX0, plugins needed, or anything in reguards to what I might need to know when working with Avid.

I'm also at a ficility that has a version of Avid I've never heard of.  My last show was avid 8.8.  This place has Avid Media Composer 2018.5.0.

Any info, tips, or advice would be very much apreaciated!

    I'm on:

    Mac Pro (Late 2013)

    Processor 2.7 GHz 12 - Core Intel Xeon E5

    Memory 64GB 1866 MHz DDR3

Graphics AMD FirePro D700 6144 MB

I don't know if you need any of that info, but I've seen a bunch of times when people are asking for help and people ask, "what operating system are you on?" and all kinds of questions like that.  So I hope to avoid that.  Haha

    Thank you all so much!

Re: Sony RX0 with Avid MC 2018.5.0

The RX0 records in both XAVC-S and h.264 (MP4). The MC version numbers are just a change in the numbers. 2018.x.x is still version 8.something or another (a much bigger change is coming down the line).

The Avid generic plug-in (included) reads XAVC-S and MP4, so that's what you'll use. If you need timecode from the camera (and it may or may not have timecode), then you'd need the Nablet XAVC-S plug-in for XAVC-S. That's a paid plug-in.

I've been re-wrapping the xavc files from the rx10 from MP4 to .mov with editready , or Iffmpg. Then linking with the QuickTime Ama link
