    Re: batch re-import and relink

Very different. The difference has to do with the method they were originally imported.

Batch re-import is for things that were brought in via File->Input->Import Media. It was renamed somewhat recently. It used to be called simply "Batch Import".

Relink is to tell clips or a sequence that contain offline media to re-link to that media. It is also used for the "offline/online" workflow, to unlink to existing low-res media and link to high-res media or even the original AMA-Linked camera cards.

Google "Avid Relink", "Avid AMA Workflow" to discover the relink process.
