"This software was released past your contract expiration date" !

I´m upgrading to MC 2018.12.2 but when I try to open it I get the message; This software was released past your contract expiration date 12/19/2018 but I have an annual plan to 12/19/2019. Deactivating and activating my licence through Avid Link doesn´t change any thing.

    What am I doing wrong?

Hi IrisSveins and welcome to the forums. My best guess is that Avid Link is at fault. Any chance You can uninstall it and run the old Application Manager?

Thank you Luca for your reply.

Yes I did what you said, but still I get the same massage, all though deactivating and activating my licence again and again.

    Any more ideas?

Is there a simple clear all cache function for Avid Link like there was in the Application Manager? Which Windows  and what version of that are you using?

Normally a deactivate then activate again resolves this if your plan was recently renewed.

Re: "This software was released past your contract expiration date" !

How i solved it (I have a dongle activation):

    Issue:
Installed today new 2018.12.3 using the Avid Manager and got the error. I did not see any option to manage my dongle in the new Avid Link, and the C:\Program Files\Avid\Utilities\DongleManager folder was empty.

    my solution:
I then uninstalled all MC applications with Windows Apps & Features. I removed Avid Link, Avid MediaComposer, Sentinel, etc which comes with MC installation. Restarted PC. Then downloaded MC 2018.12.3 installer exe from Avid My Account. Made a MC suite install as administrator and restarted PC.

Left the dongle plugged-in and now in the new Avid Link application I did see green "Dongle Active" which was not there before. The dongle details had indeed a past expiration date and I got my Updater.avd file using Avid My Account. Avid Link did flash my dongle without problems and all works fine now.
