    .MP4 Export

    Hi,

Im pretty sure this is almost an al time question, but is there any plan to add .mp4 (h264) export option?  I know I can export h264 MOV, but the encoder is aged and doesnt use te CPU properly.

What I am looking for is to be able to export preview faster then "something close to real time" - in Adobe Media Encoder (or just Premiere) I can export 60 minutes of full HD to 720p 3mbit in like 15 minutes (one pass). Even on my old computer.

It would be so lovely to have that option in MC. And to export HQ 2pass files as well. It would be reason for me to buy new computer and move to up to date MC.

    Is there hope?

    Thanks.

    Re: .MP4 Export

What about exporting a QT Ref file and using TmpGEnc to do the transcoding to various formats including MP4 as a better workflow? If you can generate QT Ref files (you may need to mixdown first depending on your workflow) then you can benefit from a speedy encoder (TmpGEnc) without tying-up MC during the encoding process.

    Re: .MP4 Export

Thanks for your response. Yes, I do that or mixdown and export same as source. Unfortunately, usually I export long gop media or I am adding TC, so super fast export Reference is not option for me.  I just find it sad you have to thing of workarounds even for something so simple and so frequently used as Export preview. I am staying on 8.8.1 MC (because it works for me OK on my slightly dated PC). The mp4 export option would be reason for me to buy new PC and MC.

    Thanks, J.
