After capturing a tape I get this error: File '<filename> not found.

    Hey Guys,

I posted this in the mac section by accident. I'm working with PC's. I'm looking for a reason as to why this is happenning: I'm capturing tapes from SR decks and after the capture completes I get this error:

    File '<filename>' not found.

When I click more this is the information im provided with:

    File '<filename>' not found.

    Exception: SYS_ERROR

    File '<filename>' not found.

    Exception: SYS_ERROR

    File '<filename>' not found.

    Exception: SYS_ERROR

    File '<filename>' not found.

    Exception: SYS_ERROR, status:2

    File '<filename>' not found.

    Exception: SYS_ERROR, status:2

    File '<filename>' not found.

    Exception: SYS_ERROR, status:2

This is becoming a major issue as it takes twice as long to capture tapes now. I'll capture the tape, avid gives me this error message, there is nothing saved in the media files and I have to capture the tape again. Then it works.  Is there someone out there who can provide me with any information as to why this could be happening? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Edit: I'd like to mention that deleteing the msm files and re-scanning the media database did not fix this issue. Neither did a reboot or the usual trouble shooting. The drive I'm saving to is a san volume.

Avid either can't or thinks it can't write to the drive.

if it's a remote drive, try a local one.

    permissions come to mind.

also had cases where i couldn't find a fix.

ah, one more thing to check.

does the "creating" folder get filled while capturing?

maybe you can at least catch the problem early.
