    Mixed case comments in EDL

Back in AMC 6.5 I could go to /Applications/Avid EDL Manager/SupportingFiles/EDL_Manager_Templates/ and edit the EDL Template (eg. CMX_3600) and look for the line with "toupper_conversion" on it and change the TRUE value to FALSE.

Then I'd get Mixed Case comments instead of UPPERCASE comments.

Now I'm on 2018.8 and can't reproduce the mixed case result editing the File_129 file, now located in the Applications/Avid Media Composer/SupportingFiles/EDL_Manager_Templates folder.

Am I looking in the wrong folder?

Re: Mixed case comments in EDL

And what is listed in the EDL_Manager_Templates folder far outnumbers what is in the dropdown menu in the List Tool, --compare the checkmarks in this table:

    http://chuckipedia.ca/index.php/Avid_EDL_Manager_Templates

Plus the Film list formats (Columnar, TabbedLists, etc) in the List Tool dropdown aren't in that folder.  Not that they were there when Filmscribe and EDL Manager were separate applications before the List Tool became an integrated option in version 8.3. Which gives me cause to suspect that the EDL_Manager_Templates folder isn't linked at all to the List Tool -- is it just a vestige from when the EDL Manager was a separate application and that's why any edits made to the template files there don't reflect back in the List Tool's ability to generate mixed case comments in EDLs?

Re: Mixed case comments in EDL

Interestingly, markers and clip names appear in mixed case when the template is modified ("toupper_conversion" set to FALSE), but comments stubbornly remain in uppercase, as evidenced in this simple EDL:

    TITLE: bars

    FCM: NON-DROP FRAME

    000001 SMPTE_Bars.pct V C 01:00:00:00 01:00:30:00 01:00:00:00 01:00:30:00

    *COMMENT GOES HERE

    *FROM CLIP NAME: SMPTE_Bars.pct

*LOC: 01:00:00:00 Green Marker goes here
