Hi guys,
Totally new to this so please forgive me if this is a dumb question. I'm going through avid for the first time with a basic line cut i have from an event i put on.
I shot the event 1080i 59.97 on BMD Ursa Minis. ProsRes422.
I want to bring the line cut in and merge a sound file and export it. No real edits, but this is largely to drill using avid.
I start a project and it asks me if i want to use YCbCr 709 or RGB 709.
What are the differences and why would i use each?
Final export would be a youtube quality video for the event organizer. Nothing too epic, but this does give me a chance to familiarize with avid.
YCbCr is the choice you want to make. RGB is available for very high end projects that require uncompressed media.
Your source media is already 4:2:2 so uncompressed is way too much.

Thanks a lot, keeps it simple. So any time i'm in 422 or less stick with YCbCr.
