I'm finding that there are some sequences and other content that I would like to use across projects, such as title cards, etc...

Is there a way to have a bin that is accessible by all new projects?

I have a folder (starting with my initials so they are easy to find) that I copy/paste at os level into new project.

i think avid brought in ‘favourite’ bins recently but I haven’t used that yet

Favorite bin is your friend.

Create the bin as needed and save it somewhere accessible all the time (like onn the OS drive)

Then within a project open that bin in the project and right click it and add bin to favorites.

Now all projects will have a favorites folder and that bin (and any others you create) will be in there.

There is a Bin setting to set that folder to be at the top or bottom of the folder list.

Open the bin you want, or click in an open bin to select it, then click on the Bin menu item in the toolbar. That's where you'll find Add To Favorites.

I just turned on the full version trial and I have the option for "Favorite Bins" in there. Is "Favorite Bins" not an option in Media Composer First? If not, you guys at least got me to the point that I can use "Open Bin" each time. Thanks for all the help.

That feature is part of the MC paid for version.
