Encoding from Avid SAS on a non-MC machine

I installed Squeeze on my non-Avid computer then tried to encode from an Avid same-as-source file exported from my MC system and copied to the non-Avid PC.   The resulting output screen is black (although I have audio.)   I realized I don't have the Avid DNxHD codecs installed on my non-Avid machine, so I'm assuming that's why Squeeze can't encode the same-as-source file. Embarrassed

I can't find the link to install the Avid codecs on my non-Avid PC.   Would someone kindly point me in that direction?

    Thanks,

    Terry

I've found a few links to download the free DNxHD codecs, but the links are very old.   Since I'm creating the same-as-source files in MC 2018.4, I assume I need a more updated download link?

I never export using SAS quicktime anymore.

Try AMA file export.  Its seems much more reliable to me.

Interesting suggestion.   I will try it on my Avid workstation. But I still need the Avid Codecs on my non-Avid PC in order for Sorenson to work with files exported from Avid and then encoded with Squeeze on a different machine.  Especially since I record to an Atomos field recorder in DNxHD as my source material.

I doubt the coded has changed much. But why not run your MC installer on the non-Avid machine? You’re free to install, even if you don’t activate, and the installer should give you the Avid codecs on that system.

As far as I remember, the PE and LE codec packs are inside the  'Installers' folder when you download the main MC installer package.

Just checked with the 8.8.4 installer on my home PC and they're present on this version.
