Subclipping with Motion Effects | EDL Issue

Our company is having an issue in which subclips that have had motions effects added to the master clip are not passing the motion effect information on when making EDLs. This has been an issue over a number of version of Avid MC, but currently running 2018.3 on macOS Sierra.

The workflow would be something like:

Media shot at a sensor fps of 50fps is brought into a 25fps project, playing back at 25. This clip needs to be retimed to be synched to audio, or just to be played back at real speed.

The clip is placed on a timeline, a 200% time warp applied and then the clip is the made into a subclip (Make subclip, then autosync).

This subclip now exists with the speed effect, but when placed on a timeline, the retime icon doesn't show, nor does the black line at the top.

The bigger issue is that when making EDLs/AAFs, the motion effect info is not there. The media in/out points will however show a length double that of the sequence in/out points.

The current work around is at the end matching back to the master clip, overwriting it and adding a new speed effect. This is flawed in that we have multiple people working/switching between projects and it is not automatically apparent that a clip might have been speed effected, and so sometimes clips are not matched back/correctly retimed which causes issues with post houses.
