We need to upgrade some of our older Harper Town Macs and I'm looking for some advice regarding future Mac purchases for our editing systems. Do we add to our arsenal of Trashcans? Do we go for the iMac Pros? We connect via 10-gig fiber and run DNX Hardware so we need to add PCiE expansion chassis' either way. I hear rumblings about a new Mac Pro Tower in development. Do we hold for another year?
Any thoughts, suggestions or nudges in one direction or another are appreciated!
Thanks!

Hey Doug
I checked with our hardware engineer Dave and his response is as follows:

Frankly, at the moment, and if you mainly use your computer with Media Composer... I would get a PC. Me from several years ago would strangle current me for betraying the Mac platform, but seriously they've done nothing to serve our needs as editors lately. Since the Trashcan Mac, sticking to Apple has made us jump through hoops (how many adapters do you need to gangbang together to plug storage, a second monitor and a Nitris to a Mac...) to have something that's not very stable nor rewarding.
Hey Marianna,
I neglected to write back and say thanks for the reply. Looking in to iMacs now.
Doug
