MC 8.9 slows down over time

    Installed 8.9.

Noticed a definite slow down over time. Over the course of an hour, the interaction with the software gets sluggish. Response rate very slow when making marks and clicking.

    Anyone else?

Are you on a dongle or a SW license?   Is appman running in the backgorund?

What does your activity monitor show?

    On a  License.

AppMan is running in the BG.

    Nothing unusual on Activity monitor.

I find I need to quit and restart the software every hour or so.

I am running 12.6.5 OS (don't yell at me...I only noticed it after I installed).

I can manage. But I just wondered if this symptom was just me.

Re: MC 8.9 slows down over time

    Hey Fish...

I never yell LOLOLOL   I just installed 10.12.6 myself in order to do a little testing of MC and MC | First so you are not alone.

However, I dont think that has anything to do with it.....

How much RAM do you have?

Are you noticing drive chatter at all as the system begins to slow down?

I want you to restart and launch MC which in turn will launch Appman.  Then I want you to quit appman as it doesnt need to be running.  See if that changes things....

Unless you have some sort of severe firewall rules in place or something funky, we shouldn’t interrupt anything with appman closed.

Also, can I get info on versions of Appman and MC please.  Last Appman 17.7 had improvement for eating CPU usage.

I will try quitting AppMan...but it may take a while before I can tell. The slow down kind of creeps up on you.

    Thx!!!

    Hi Marianna

I had the same problem with my 2 MC with Newscutter (option) on OS win 7 64bit

    M.C version 8.2.11 with app manager 2.4.4

I also had a tweak for quitting app man but doesn't work fine.
