Hello,
Avid locks up my machine for a few seconds when I scrub through the timeline. This is the first time I've ever seen this issue. Turning off fast scrub solves it, but I wonder what is the cause?
Thanks folks.
Well knowing your system specs might help.
Fast Scrub has been evil for many versions. It just does not get fixed. It is the first thing I disable when making a new user setting.

I've never noticed this, Jef. Where is that setting?

I never had a problem with fast scrub yet.
But I had a similar problem once, which was even worse. As soon as I opened another window i.e explorer or even the title tool avid would freeze immediately.
The solution was a clean install of the nvidia driver. Not just an installation of the newest version but a clean install. If you install the new driver there is a box that can be clicked that says something like 'complete install' or 'clean install'
Don't know exactly how it's called in english because I'm on a swiss german speaking computer.
Anyway, what it does is it will first delete every single piece of nvidia drivers and software lurking around from previous installs and will then do a complete new install of the driver.
It helped in my case and the system is running without a single hickup since.
Hope that helps
Peter

Hi all,
It turns out my issue was not Avid-related. It was related to my USB hub locking up my machine.
So sorry :(
