ISIS 5000 connected via 4x1Gbe with stucked s25 switches

    Hi

We have an ISIS 5000 system conected to a Force10 s25 switch via 4x1Gbe.

We have the need to expand the switch in order to add more clients.

if i will connect another s25 switch with the stack module, does this force me to switch to 10Gbe between the ISIS and the switch?

I know that 4x1Gbe is supported only with a single engine, but is it supported with two stucked s25 switches?

i didn't found answers to that in the ISIS documentation - the doucumentation only mention stuck s25 switches with two or more engines (so it assumes 10Gbe between each engine and the switch - there is no indication to a single engine connected via 4x1Gbe with stucked s25 switches)

    Thanks!

We have not tested it with stacked switches and so many clients but it should work. Still, this is a lot of clients on a single 5000 engine.

Re: ISIS 5000 connected via 4x1Gbe with stucked s25 switches

    Thanks.

we plan to go up to about 24 clients, (first switch is 20 ports after reducing the 4 ports needed for the engine)

but only 3 clients are doing Writes, and all other are just Read.

we are working in XDCAM 35 1080i/50 single stream.

according to the ISIS Perormence guide - each XDCAM 35 stream is 5 MB/s, so even with 3 clients doing Writes and the other doing Reads, i still got a lot bandwidth left

    Thanks!!
