    AMPIContext ERROR

Hello. I have this Error message poping-up sometime preventing sequence playback (not always, not systematic as I can notice):

AMPIContext::SyncParams() effectData is set to NULL.

The sequence has several RTAE. Deleting ALL RTAE from sequence solves the problem. Applying them back does not bring error back immidiatley.

    Is that a known bug?

Is there any workaround/console command/etc. which could be easier than manually deleting RTAEs?

    Would appreciate any ideas.

    Many Thanks

    Re: AMPIContext ERROR

I just ran into this problem on a Windows system - 8.5.3 connected via ISIS. Searching led me to your post.

My audio tracks all have Maxim applied (my favorite RTAS effect, BTW!) from a saved effect bin we've been using on consecutive episodes of a web series. Launching the Audio Track Effect Tool shows the effect is applied, but the controls don't display. Sure enough, switch each track to No Insert and the sequence plays again. Drag the preset Maxim effect from the series bin back onto the sequence and again it won't play. Apply the Maxim effect anew from the effect tool and set the dials fresh and it works fine. Must be a slight variation from carrying this effect forward several versions?

If it's at all relevant, the items in sequence are from a multigroup. The audio is 24 bit multichannel mono wav field sound.

    Re: AMPIContext ERROR

Several people have had this over the years...

Manually deleting the RTAE's fixes it.

I am going to try it in 8.7.2 unless DaveS you have....

    Re: AMPIContext ERROR

I have similar issues now and in the past. Opening sequence on a different computer that contains audio effects can make trouble.

I think there are two reasons for that:

    1. If you save a preset in the audio effect and open the sequence on the 2nd computer that doesn't have this preset.

-> You have to manually copy the preset to the 2nd computer

    2. If you are using an audio plug-in that is not activated on the 2nd computer (e.g. because you don't have your iLok dongle with you)

-> You have to activate the audio effect and always carry your iLok dongle with you.

    Here are some error messages:

    Marty

AMPI errors are usually related to the DSMServer.exe file.  This process is responsible for licensing and validating the audio plugins (including AudioSuite) within MC.
