    Transcode or Render effects coruption

I have recently been having problems when I render effects or trascode footage where part of the footage is corrupted.  just a couple of frames or seconds the image is distorted like a digital glitch.  This also occures when I export footage as well. ( same as source) Any one else see a problem like this? Can this be a drive issue? If it is a drive issue what can i do?

    Thanks

    Hi.

    We need more information:

    • AMA linked footage or import method?
    • What kind of footage?
    • Are you sending transcodes to your C drive?

Re: Transcode or Render effects coruption

Sorry took a bit to get a render glitch.  This one happened from exporting same as source.  the timeline in avid plays fine.  Not sure if this is avid problem or hard drive problem.

I will upload more as they occur. Some look different than this.

Re: Transcode or Render effects coruption

Looks very similar to an issue that I recently escalated with Avid Support; after several attempts, my contact engineer finally managed to get a repro (was hard to do, b/c in my case it appeared only here and there in long multicam sequences (where only AMA-linked AVCHD clips got corrupted during render or transcode))

Will update this thread when I have a bug number

Re: Transcode or Render effects coruption

Im not sure its that problem.  I got this from export Same as Source.  These files are not spanned files they are short shot broll clips.  This also happens when transcoding in the avid as well.

Here is the video to see the actual motion. This is an mpg4 render from media encoder but the original has this as well. Didnt want to upload hd.

The glitches start around 35 seconds

    Brian

I insist...:watching your video, it looks very similar to the problem I described earlier.

I have no bug number for it, but it has been reproduced and according to the Avid engineer handling the case, "we are working on this and it  is under investigation"

The length of the clip/sequence isn't necessarily a factor (it's just that it occurred to me only in that case).

Re: Transcode or Render effects coruption

My antivirus software was pingin the footage drives causing the problem. I had the program ignore those drives and bingo have not had a problem for over a few months now!  Hope this helps others.
