windows poping up out of reach for mouse

When I open a bin with lots of content it sometimes opens up so that its upper frame is out of reach for the mouse. I therefore can only close it by right clicking on the corresponding icon in the main window. Also - moving the window is impossible because the upper frame is out of reach. Very annoying.

    Thanks for any help.

Are those displays overscanning by any chance? (Using hdmi out on a Mac witha consumer display?)

Thanks, brainburst. Overscanning is not the problem - it's on the retina display of a macbook pro. Also, I have 2 more monitors connected and no matter on which I open the bin the window will be oversized just the same..

Re: windows poping up out of reach for mouse

I've also had this happen to me several times on my iMac/MBP.

The only solution I've found was to "Close All Bins" from the Window menu. Not the best if you're working from multiple open bins.

I wish Avid would fix this.

Or you could go in the Windows menu and choose "Home".

OSX 10.10.4 isn't yet supported. This is one reason why.

Unrelated, I'm afraid. I've had this happen on several supported OS's for more than a year.

Would you happen to have more than one monitor and if so, do they have different resolutions?  Trying to get some common details from anybody who's experiencing this to possibly escalate.

Yes - this seems related. I'm using MBP Retina with additional Acer-FullHD Screen and a SONY consumer TV (HDready). When I disconnect additional monitors the problem disappears. However, when monitors are connected the problems occurs on all three monitors just the same.

Re: windows poping up out of reach for mouse

In my case, I'm only using the iMac's and MBP's native monitors. No additional ones connected.

Re: windows poping up out of reach for mouse

If I am remebering correctly the trick that always fixed this from me was to switch display from dual monitors back to single monitor in Mac preferences.

Then switch it back to dual.  Everything pops back into place.

Can those afflicted try Greg's solution and report back?  Also, make sure you've de-selected "Displays have seperate Spaces" in the Mission Control settings in System Preferences.
