    Alexa Ruhes showing as 2.67:1

    Hi All

Ive been working withAlexa rushes for some time now. All resolutions and codecs.

The most recent job i worked on was shot on an Alexa Plus 4:3. The rushes were Pro res 4444 2048x1536.

Something I've never seen before happened when i AMA linked these field in to MC 8.

The image aspect ratio was 2.67:1. On every other occasion the image aspect ratio has been 4:3.

Does anybody know why this maybe?

To my knowledge they are 2k 4:3 Anamorphic Alexa rushes, but they don't seem to behave like they are.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

2:1 anamorphic squeeze applied to a 1.33 (4x3) source would be a 2.67 aspect ratio.  Maybe the metadata coming from the camera is the culprit?  Maybe the anamorphic squeeze amount is incorrect?  If you change the setting in the AMA reformat column does the issue resolve itself?

Must think of something clever to go here...

    hi hbrock

Thanks for yoru reply, it is indeed metadata from the camera, i found out from the guys at Arri that a new feature was introduced lat year called " lens squeeze factor" which enables players such as QT to automatically desqueeze the image.

Thge problen with that in a MC enviroment is that as you say the desqueeze amoutn is incorrect, i would be looking to end up with 2.39 not 2.67.
