Re: Media Composer 7.0.4.2 Patch Available

    coldfusion11:

Now time to upgrade Fibre manager to support ABOVE OSX 10.7.5.

Then maybe we could move to mountain lion or mavericks.

I believe that Coldfusion11 is referring to the fact that the Unity MediaNet client software will not run on Mac OS versions higher than 10.7.5. So, if you have a fibre-connected Unity of a certain vintage, your Mac clients are stuck on Lion.

Just tried this update on OSX 10.8.5.

It won't launch for me. Crashes at initialiizing settings.

I tried trashing all settings and did a full reinstall. No joy.

    Anyone else have this problem?

Re: Media Composer 7.0.4.2 Patch Available

Can I download this patch (free) if I am running 7.0.2? My biggest issue is Avid Pan and Zoom not working consistently(sometimes images will import and sometimes won't and I have a black hole), and I don't know if this even addresses that problem.

Yes and it is an advisable update IMO

P&Z  fixes I could find in a quick run through of the 7.0.3 and 7.0.4.x readme's

From 7.0.4.1's readme fixed "Bug Number: UDevC00185574. An image with a long name that resided at least 5 folders deep on an ISIS system, did not import into an Avid Pan & Zoom effect.

From 7.0.4s readme "Bug Number: UDevC00182411. You could not link to a Pan&Zoom image created on a v5.5.3.7 editing application"

Re: Media Composer 7.0.4.2 Patch Available

thank you! I appreciate quick response. I am not sure that those fixes with cure the problem but it is likely worth update anyway. I do have compositions that go back to MC 3.0.

I am wondering if it might have something to do with size of target file or the way it was scanned in the first place.

Same here and a lot further back as well. Smile

I do not use Mac based Avid's often enough to give a Mac answer for your issue

Some members here had had similar (if not the same) issues on PC's. Other members with the same MC versions and similar systems did not have the issues (I am one of them)  The most regular suggested solutions involved getting the file path to the graphics folder to be as short as possibe and on internal rather than Mapped network drives.

    Good Luck

that is an excellent suggestion. I had not thought of that (nor found that suggestion previously).

Thank you, thank you, thank you. :-)

I had no idea why when I upgraded to MC 8 the scrubbing got so funky. I didn't know about the "fast scrubbing" setting, and when I turned it off, everything works fine again.
