    Matrox Mini and Avid V8

I just upgraded to Avid 8.1 from 6.5 (first upgrading my OS to Maverick).  I then upgraded my Matrox 02 Mini to v4.2 .  I am now experiencing a lag on my video (on the computer side, not the client monitor!) and also in the trimming.  I am working on a dual-6 core with 16 gb 1333. Any suggestions how best to deal with this?

I've had this problem for 18 months (since upgrading to v7). Matrox and Avid don't want it know anything about it.

A Matrox support call is free, are you really saying that , although you have been in contact with them, you haven´t got any help at all for 18 months .

I gave up on Matrox and switched to the BMD Ultra Studio Mini Monitor and all my lag problems went away . . .

Thanks for the replies.  Is the BMD Mini the same as the UltraStudio SDI, or is there another one to consider? I don't need the power of the UltraStudio Pro, so the SDI would probably be sufficient... but I'd rather Avid or Matrox simply come out with an upgrade!! IS THERE A WORKAROUND with the Matrox that can be done (a Macgyver approach; perhaps some pine tar and glue?).

Maybe you are using 2 screens with different resolutions on the Mac

Have you been in contact with Matrox support

Both monitors are identical.  Matrox was quick in their response, but unfortunately they said that this was a known problem and Avid needed to solve it in their next upgrade... Which isn't helpful to me right now!
