    REQUEST for INFO : MAM M$ SQL DB : MIGRATION : 2008R2 >> 2012

    Good Day
    Purple People !

Our Group wants to migrate the existing Production MAM's DB from SQL2008R2 to SQL2012

    We've reviewed the Docs:

While, the current Docs are great for setting up a "Genesis" DB for MAM... the Community could use a MIGRATION Guide, on proper Protocol/Adaption to move from SQL2008R2 to SQL2012.

Thanks so much for any (re)Direction(s) the Avid Community Forum can offer : )

    Hello Joseph

The information in the release notes and migration guides provided with each version and service pack of the Interplay MAM software focuses on changes of this software. The Microsoft SQL Server is a 3rd party component and we usually do not provide any detailed information for upgrading this software other than information to ensure required pre-requisites for Interplay MAM are met.

You should check the release notes of your MAM version to ensure that it supports the planned version of Microsoft SQL Server 2012. Please pay special attention to the service pack version.

If you are purely updating the data base server and not the MAM version, we would ask you to consult the document provided by Microsoft (e.g. and Of course you must ensure that you have valid licenses for Microsoft SQL Server and it is also vital to back-up the database before doing anything with it.

If you have detailed questions of specific aspects, please contact our Customer Success specialists.

    Best regards,
