MC 6.5.4.4 Patch causing error when opening bins

    Hey There

My technician patched my Avid MediaComposer from a solid working 6.5.4 to an error causing 6.5.4.4!
When I open bins I created in the 6.5.4 Version, Avid prompts me with this message:

"The application binary file has been corrupted. Please reinstall the system."

After I restart the MediaComposer Application, NOT the system, the bin that caused the error is open and everything works until i open another "old" bin.

By now i opened every old bin, so i hope this error does not come again.
    I'm on an HP Z400, Win 7,

Does anybody else have this problem?

I patched up to 6.5.4.4 last week and haven't noticed this problem. I just opened an old 5.5 project and there were no error messages when I opened any of the bins.

    Try Larry  "The Usual Suspects":

    1. Project settings - can sometimes become corrupted. It the problem is contained to one specific project and is not visible in others, quit the application and from the specific project folder in the master "Avid Projects" folder, delete the "(project name)settings.avs" file. On re-launch, the system will detect the missing file and a new one.

    2. Site settings - can sometimes become corrupted. If the problem appears in any project, quit the application and from the settings folder with Avid Media Composer in the path, delete the following: MC State, Site_Settings, Site_Attributes. On re-launch, the system will detect the missing files and build new ones. If you previously dragged any user settings into the site settings window, those will need to be restored after the rebuild.

    3. User profile - can sometimes malfunction and cause bizarre issues. Create a new user profile and see if the problem persists.

A problem was discovered with that Windows patch.  You'll need to uninstall it and install the corrected patch expected shortly.

My assistant told me that they released the corrected patch 2 days ago (Aug 4th 2014)

Avid Download Center - Professional Editor Patch page.

It has the same version number as the corrupted one. Be aware of the date
We downloaded the corrupted patch on July 25th.

I uninstalled the patch and downgraded to 6.5.4, works like a charm.
The only thing is that I have to repair every bin i created in the old corrupt 6.5.4.4.

You get prompted with a message and a "repair bin" button when you open such a bin.
It's integrated, you don't need to do anythoung outside of MediaComposer.
