Banding when applying Effects (paint effect, transition, etc)

    Hello!

I have the annoying problem that whenever I am applying an effect that manipulates the video (like applying a blur, paint effect, transition, or even cc) I get banding in the video, as if the video would have a very ow bit rate...

The video material was filmed with a canon 5D mkIII in h264 with all-I Codec, imported as AMA and then transcoded to DNxHD 185x (yes, yes, I know its a bit overkill)

Avid version is 7.0.3 on a new iMac with 10.8.5

I read about banding with wrong render settings so I changed mine to DNxHD 185x, 16bit instead of 8bit and quality to full.

It doesnt change anything, the heavy bandng still occurs, worst with blur effect and then a fade to black... looks like super nintendo game colors in the end of the fade :P

Dont know what I am doing wrong, when I apply the blur effect with after effects there is almost no banding...

Even if the issue appeared here from time to time, maybe someone has anything new to say about it and can help me...
