    AvidBinIndexer (Not Responding)

AvidBinIndexer and AvidSearch processes always show up for me as (Not Responding) in Activity Monitor. Is this expected behavior? I've tried doing the enablesearch command in the console. Thanks.

This appears to be a bug in 7.0.3 - it is discussed briefly in this thread: http://community.avid.com/forums/p/124594/720778.aspx#720778

I am also having the issue, and have tried everything to solve it. I gave up and went back to work. Hopefully we'll have some resolution to it in 7.0.4. In the meantime though I've been working on the same couple projects for three months in 7.0.3 and things have been alright.

Ahh, I see. Didn't come up in my search. Thanks!

    Re: AvidBinIndexer (Not Responding)

I wanted to bump this thread.  I had been having this issue constantly.  However, I attributed it to the fact that I was running 7 on Mavericks.  This week, I upgraded to 8.1 running in OS 10.9.4.

Still, everytime the application is open, if I open the activity monitor, I see that AvidBinIndexer and AvidSearch are not responding.

I don't know if this is the reason for the applications sluggishness or it is simply a problem with the software itself as users have complained in another thread.

    This is very frustrating.

    Re: AvidBinIndexer (Not Responding)

I have the same thing... Been complaining about it since a 7.0.4 update we did.  But I experience it on my 8.0 sytems also.

    All running 10.9.3

Was told by support it happens when your running Borris... When I explained I'm to cheap to pay for something I always got for free they said..

"It's because you AMA link files"

So I gave up.   I do have search issues but but they seem to be resolved if I save my index files on a local drive vs  the ISIS workspace.
