HOW DO YOU TRANSCODE FAILED AMAs ONLY

I just transcoded a few hundred clips via AMA overnight in MediaComposer 7. In the morning it said some of the files had failed (about 30). Is there a quicker way to find the failed clips to retranscode other than sorting the bin column by name and seeing which clip has the .new.01 extension and which doesn't?

Hi Nick, if this was a background transcode you have all the statistics in the background queue window with possibilies to check what worked and what needs to be redone, a single click on the redo button will restart the process only with the failed transcodes.

To not transcode in the background will give you less options.

Thank you very much for your speedy reply Tomas! I didn't do it that way last night but will definitely use that handy tip moving forward. Out of curiosity do you know if the background que runs slower or faster than transcoding the ama's the older way?

Re: HOW DO YOU TRANSCODE FAILED AMAs ONLY

Hi Nick, an unqualified guess is that background transcode runs about 70 % of the speed of foreground transcode, this to save 30 % for your editing system to be able to handle your continued edits whilst you are bg transcpding.

Sounds like a sensible guess and thanks again.
